In the first quarter of 2025, the Netherlands saw significant activity in the photo and video app category on the unified platform. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides an overview of the performance of the top five apps: YouTube, Snapchat, CapCut - Video Editor, Canva: AI Photo & Video Editor, and Google Photos: Backup & Edit.

YouTube experienced a notable peak in weekly revenue, reaching around $377K in late February. Weekly downloads started strong at over 10K but gradually declined to approximately 6.6K by the end of March. Active users remained robust, maintaining figures around 10M throughout the quarter.

Snapchat showed consistent weekly revenue, with a peak of roughly $142K in late March. Downloads fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at about 21.6K. Active users showed a slight decline, from 3.8M at the start to approximately 3.7M by the end of March.

CapCut - Video Editor saw a steady increase in both revenue and active users. Revenue peaked at around $77K in mid-February, while active users increased to over 1.1M by March. Downloads were highest at the start, with 41.5K, and settled around 31.9K by the quarter's end.

Canva: AI Photo & Video Editor showed a strong revenue performance, peaking at approximately $78K in late February. Downloads saw an increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 17.4K. Active users fluctuated but ended strong at over 323K.

Google Photos: Backup & Edit had a steady revenue stream, peaking at $57K in late February. Downloads declined slightly, ending at 5.6K, while active users maintained a consistent level of over 2.8M.
